Finally got my motorbike going again after being sat for a while, and I was just wondering whether you lock the helmet to the bike or take it with you? or something else entirely, I normally take it with me but It can be a pain hence my reason for asking :)

I never lock my lid to the bike. You have no idea what some scrote is going to do to it for "giggles".

It makes me cry when I see (mostly) ped boys chuck their lids on the floor and whack the chain through it. My helmet goes on my head so I don't really want to put it on the floor where it is dirty, cold and wet

I take my lid with me everywhere 'cos its precious!

i always take my lid with me i don't trust leaving it on my bike. Perhaps if i had hardcase panniers to lock my lid in then maybe but i'll never use the strap lock thing that's on most bikes.

Probably not applicable to a lot of your bikes, but a lot of my mates when they used to ride peds, put their helmets under the seat compartment locked up!

Yea doesnt really apply :p the space under my seat is just about big enough for the the 4 spark plugs and some change it has in it now

Only used to leave mine with the bike when at somewhere very bike related, either at a weekly pub gathering (unlocked) or in matlock where I used to put a chain through it and the wheel and leave it on the ground.

Always take it with me, too many times i have left it on the bike being the idiot i am knowing its going to rain :/ also if i lock it to the bike ill be doing whatever then a feeling of dread hits me that im missing something lol, so yea take it with me always, plus i dont trust chavs

Same. I have the inserts for my Akkers under mine for those "Oh I'm sorry officer, is that what they're for" moments.

I would never leave my helmet locked to my bike. It will either get nicked or vandalised. Main reason is its a Shoei and i value my safety a lot, so i paid a lot of money for my vermeulen model.

Take it with me - always. The last thing I want is for the bike to be knocked over with the lid on it. Besides, it's part of my body protection, and something as important as that I want to keep an eye on.
