watercooling kit making crackling noises?

ive had a swiftech 220 apex kit fitted for a few weeks now. but last few days im getting the best way to describe is crackling noises at random times which sound like its comming from the pump is this air trapped or something else its nothing major just a bit annoying for me anyway. any ideas please.

sounds like it could be cavitation which is what happens when you get air in the loop. Shutdown and see if any air gaps appear in the tubing. Try tilting the case gently and see if any air appears.

Also unscrew the filling cap on the res,this will help bleed air out of the loop.

ive just shutdown and turn pc on it side and gently tilted case but still have the crackle noises im certain its the pump how long should i wait after shutting down before opening up res?
 
You can run the pump with the res cap open,you should hear a hiss when you unscrew it,just dont spill any of the water,i put bog roll round my res while bleeding.

i thought when i open the res it will bubble and overfill if it is still in motion?. my res is three quarters full will this solve the problem do u think doing this thanks for you help i apprechiate it

Happened to me too.. it was a little piece of grit that made a crackling noise whenever it went through the pump, probably from the second hand rad I bought.

I'd empty it all out, and rinse through the rad thoroughly :)

yeah looks like im going to have to bleed and refill which is my last resort. i left res open last night and the noises have got a bit less and not as noisey its seems its getting better but very slowly?. will unscrew pump tommorow give that a shake and see if i can release trapped air that way.
