Well, here goes.

I bought a VW Golf GT TDi about a month ago from the garage, with 6 months warrenty, when I got the car home I found a few bits wrong that needed sorted.

1) Juddering when pulling away in 1st/2nd.

and a few other bits.

Anyway I took the car back and had it repaired under warrenty, they fitted a new flywheel, clutch and bearings which resolved the juddering.

Only thing is they managed to break something which has now made the car go into "Limp mode", there is no turbo and there is a flatspot at about 3000 revs. I took it back to have that looked at, and they recon that it was a broken vacuum pipe. I said please sort it. They took the car back and sorted it, when I had the car back I was expecting to all be fine. So i drove home "Still no turbo!!" i took it back and they failed to tell me that the pipe had not been replaced but had tried to be "fixed".

That was 2 weeks ago, they said that a replacement pipe will be ordered, and I have been waiting 2 weeks for that, every day I phoned up and each time I phoned up I got the response "part is on order, should be here tomorrow". On the 5th day i phoned up only to get the response "I need to know the chassis number" which i gave them. on the 2nd week i phoned back up to get the response "the part is on back order with VW, so its currently un-available, we cannot give you a date of arrival".

This really ticked me off. The thing is everytime this bloke has said he will ring me straight back, which has been about 15-20 times, he never has. Iv always had to phone him..is he taking the ****?

Get the part number, phone a VW garage and say whats the lead time on x part, order it tell the guy at the garage its in.

Then he has no reason not to do the work.

i think Tom won his court case with his dodgy mondeo

Yeah but by the time you have forked out for the legal costs etc what is the actual outcome? also how long do you leave it before you get the legal heads involved?

it cost me £75 or something to file a small claim. I won the case late november but i am still yet to see any money from them! They're trying to appeal :s

Well the garage gave me the following part number:

1J0612041BG

but i can't seem to find any reference to that part on the web?? at all.

Probably just a little bit of pipe they could easily replace if they wanted.

I'd source the part myself, then get them to fit it.

Contact a few parts suppliers with the part number.

Hmm, well apart from the one link someone provided me with above, I really cant find this part anywhere!

VW Part Number: 1J0612041BG

Vacuum pipe.

Is it really going to be that hard to get hold of it? surely someone must have one!

Have you been to/phoned any VW garages to see if they have 1 in stock and if not how long it will take to get one in??? That's what I'd do then go to the garage thats giving you grief and say that xxxxxx VW garage at xxxxxx have one in stock for £xxx. That way they cant fob you off by saying they cant get hold of one.
