ye they kk i would say your cpu holding you down maybe
your cpu will be bottlenecking at default res in 3dmark. if u push your cpu more u will see your graphic scores go higher...I was thinking that with the 3dmark06, but none of the other 3dmarks rely on the cpu for a higher score??
it depends what res your playing at, really.... u need a balance between the cpu and graphic card.I was thinking of upgrading my system next yr, but I might do it sooner, but I wont see a huge diff in games if I upgrade now tho, will I, cos for the recent games its the graphics card that bottlenecking, not the cpu?
Is your 3870 overclocked?
Also remember, 3dmark doesn't necessarily correspond with game performance. The CPU scores make up a large part of the test; this doesn't really matter with the latest FPS games.
