someone bumped into my gti :(

will claiming effect the hpi status? would this be an advantage sorting it outside of insurance?

No change to HPi status. Unless of course the insurance companies decide to write off your car....but i find that highly unlikely on a 16k(ish) car.

Well just do it propperly next time, Especially if you even want to think or consider Whipplash claims:p

I killed a tree in my first "nock"

Look, you had an accident, it's really annoying and you should claim for the damage to your car if you can, if it was not your fault it will not impact on your no claims bonus.

Now, this whole "should I go to the doctors in case we want to claim" just winds me up. You're all right, you might have a stiff neck in the morning but you'll be fine, get over it and move on. Just because you can claim does not mean you should and this whole flipping claim culture we seem to have brought upon ourselves really annoys me.

I broke my ankle at Donington Park a few years back motor racing, now that sounds really cool, until you realise I actually fell down a pot hole in their car park! I had several people suggest to me I should make a claim, "there’s a few grand in that for you" and it just wound me up. Sorry, its one of them things, it happened and it was not due to intent or lack of maintenance, it was simply a divot in some grass. The driver was careless, she damaged your car and her insurance should put that right, I'd leave it at that myself, though I appreciate I am probably on my own.

Which one, I used no swears?? The F word I used is Irish slang and is not deemed a swear word, even though it might seem like one at first glance.

But I have changed it just in case, can I have clarity Mr Mod for future reference?

it's amazing how people get whiplash because its the new culture to screw everyone. it almost happened to a mate of mine when he ran in the back of someone in traffic. had already stopped and edging for when his foot slipped off the clutch and the car jerked forward only just hitting the car in front.

she gets out and starts rubbing her neck lol. instant red mist for my mate who threatened to give her whiplash if she pulled a stunt like that on him. she didn't claim whiplash nor did she even claim from my mate even though he was happy to either pay for it or it go through the insurance. i think it was the claim culture bit that threw him. :)

ffs wish i had never mentioned the question about accident claims :o

for all of the ZOMG CLAIM CULTURE!!!1111 posters on here:

i am not planning on making an accident claim unless i have a valid reason to

thankfully it's looking like i dont :)

i'm against this "claim culture" just as everyone else is!

Whiplash from that?

Yeah good one.

My thoughts exactly - anyone trying to claim for that is just a total spanner. Its all about seeing the ££ signs now. I honestly believe that if people cheat their way into money from stupid things like this then it all comes back to bite them in the arse when something much more nasty could happen and then money wouldn't seem so important.

People with the 'i'll claim for whiplash' attitude sicken me to the core. It just is plain wrong

Ok it's even starting to annoy me now. He has stated about 3 times now (once in large letters) he isn't going to claim anything unless he has a valid reason to. I suspect he was just asking just to cover himself (even in the unlikely event anyone did sustain injury). Drop it!

I posted before his last reply came - anyways he said it and it was up for discussion so everyone is entitled to their opinion as much as you are my friend :)
