Ok, I've got one of these and I've just connected this to my sky box, at the RF-out 2, and iv connected the other end to the magic eye and to the telly I wish to have the sky viewable from.

However, there is nothing showing on the second TV. I've followed all the instructions, tried tuning it at the second TV but there is nothing, can someone help!?

Or maybe I'm just tuning it wrong, its a samsung 46" LCD, how would I go about tuning it in. I'm positive I'm doing everything right but theres just nothing.

Did you turn on the RF power supply from your Sky box?

Done that.

After reading around on the internet, I think it may be due to the coaxial cable I am using. It's 2 long cables joined together and 1 short one, all joined by a coupler. Apparently you need 1 cable with no bends or joins or anything. Can anyone verify this who is using a magic eye/tv link?

I had one that worked for 2 days, then just stopped. Couldn't get it working again after that, even with a short test piece of coax. Don't know what happened there. Can Sky tell if you are using one and stop it somehow?

Is the red light on the TVlink lit up? I had some dodgy connections in my cabling that stopped the power getting through.

The red light is on, and the channels even change! Yet nothing on the screen.

I'm putting this down to the cable, since its 3 cables joined and I've found on another forum that it has to be 1 decent cable with no joins or bends or anything.

Cables shouldn't make any difference - if the light's on, then the cable works. If you can watch normal terrestrial through that cable, then the cable works.

You can change the broadcast channel in Services -4 -0-1-Select if it's broadcasting on a channel that overlaps some other. I know where I live, the default broadcast channel is the same as one of the BBC Freeview Multiplexes.

EDIT: Does your Samsung LCD even have an analogue tuner?! Most are sold with Freeview only, I'd've thought!

It was the cable. I got a longer much better quality cable, which isn't joined to anything else, one end straight into the TV and the other into the skybox and its now working. :)
