NO TO GAM£ 39

The difference it makes is Cardiff are taking the place of an English club and should be booted out of the English league.

So the years of welsh clubs contributing to the english league system means nothing? Sorry but the six welsh clubs have been around a darn sight longer than many English teams (and franchises). We're supposed to go into the welsh system with no form of compensation and bankrupt our 3 biggest teams despite the fact when we joined the welsh league system didn't exist.

Back on topic, why not compromise on the playing abroad concept, perhaps play either an existing fixture (man u home game for example, seeing as half their fans seem to come from outside England anyway) or even an FA cup tie.

its a joke of a concept.

football nowadays is too much about money + reputation
what happened to the beautiful game?

It's amusing to think that everytime I watch MOTD(2) half the fixtures at least are played in half filled stadiums. What makes it that people are going to flock to grounds in different parts of the world. The top 5/6/7 sides could probably attract people, but say e.g. Derby V Sunderland got drawn in New York, I really can't imagine the place being more than 15% full (made up figure, but it illustrates a point).

I don't agree with this at all.

As for Cardiff, why are they in the english league? They cause nothing but trouble wherever they go. The ground is one of the most hostile hell holes I have had the joy of going to. Have they ever won anything?

I think the Welsh league is ideal for them. They actually get to lift a title then and play in Europe.

As for them going bankrupt........I thought they already were.

Half filled stadiums?? Maybe at Wigan. Derby v Sunderland is coming up in a couple of weeks. Sunderland will be taking 3-4000 fans down there. I reckon it'll be close to a sell out.

And playing matches abroad is all about TV revenue, they don't care about fans attending matches home or abroad..it's not where the money is.

Actually the main example I was thinking of was Villa or Middlesborough. But there usually is plenty of half filled stadiums every round of the Premier League. I remember going to see Everton - Arsenal on 29th Dec, and seeing pockets of empty blue seats. A few wouldn't have bothered me, the gaps did make me raise an eyebrow..

And most clubs still rely on match day receipts for revenue.

theyre been hosted in huge international citys though , not in little towns like mboro . will probably be atleast half the price to get in too

people will turn up because they hear such great things about the premier league
