New car ordered !

Well today I have put down an order for a company car. Have chosen a
BMW 118D M Sport in Alpine white - am well chuffed and cant wait to get it now .

:D
 
I'm sure its a very good car but how did you get over the looks of the thing?

To me it looks like the mechanical equivalent of a doc marten!

Its not the best looking car but im on a lease scheme so have to pay some money up front each month. I wanted a cheap diesel car which is built well and has a nice interior.

I went to a BMW dealer yesterday and actually preferred the 1 Coupe M Sport but the price was a few grand more and this effects my monthly payments.

I like the hatchback - sure its not to everyones tastes but i drive a saloon at the moment (Alfa 156) so it will be a nice change... :)
 
I actually like the 1 series now, took a while but in the right colour and with some big wheels and a bit of kit that the sport comes with i think they look alright, hopw you enjoy it
 
My boss just ordered one of these as his company car, war trying to push him towards the 120 but meant he couldnt get the options and he doesnt really drive that quick anyway. Best of a bad bunch on his list of cars really.

My colleague is going for the 120d M Sport - its a tad quicker... MPG is slightly down on paper but as its 7.5 seconds to 60 he will thrash it and MPG will be worse.

Apparently it uses the same engine as the 118 ?

Ye its just detuned or tuned more in the 120 whatever way you want to look at it. not like the 118 is that slow for a diesel, something like 9seconds to 60.

Yeah think its 8.9 but whos counting ;)

Cant believe how expensive the options are on the BMW though I mean £30 for a cup holder and £205 for a usb input for the radio :eek:

If money was no object then I would have. Thankfully working for the NHS we get good discounts and this is only costing me £160pm :)

Decent is relative to ones standards though :p

I advised my dad to spend his money on something else, but wouldnt listen.. he was like a little girl when he picked it up.. so really as long as he's happy with it isn't that all that matters?
