It looks as though, the QX9770 works great when combined with fast DDR3 memory, because it has 1600MHz FSB

Overclocking results I've seen don't show these doing anything the QX9650 doesn't do.

Pretty much, certainly I'm not aware of anything different other than the price and the default FSB.

The QX9770 is def going to occupy a higher price than the QX9650, so that makes me think they'll keep that product active
