My Gun Can Store Over 1,000 Songs!

And controlling the mass public. The last thing anybody wants is a RFID chip + centralised database to become reality.

How does having your fingerprint/DNA on record control you?

Are all the people on donor lists being secretly controlled by the government?

What you should ask is, do you TRUST them with such sensitive data about YOU? Of course they never make mistakes or even lose data do they? So what have you got to worry about...

I love conspiracy theories :) It could just have easily been that he did have a gun but chucked it before the police arrived. As has been said it makes sense to keep him on file on the off chance that he is involved in something.

How is this even related?!?! The police received a call describing a man with a gun and it looks like they acted quickly and efficiently. It must have been a tense situation at the when they confronted him, then he reached into his pocket to turn off his music!!! Seeing as the police had received a report he had a gun I would say they'd have been completely in their rights to shoot him at this point.

Your really funny.

Having your fingerprints/DNA on record is a small step to everything else being on record and centralised. Then (like in America now) they implant you with a RFID chip to monitor you and they can use it to control you. If you don't like the governments set of rules and you are seen as part of the protest, they disable your chip, you get no wages, no NHS, nothing.

I'd worry about them losing my bank details and personal details as these could be used to defraud me, but then all of these things are on record with many companies already (banks, utilities, schools, place of work, video store...). Someone knowing what your fingerprint/DNA sequence is is hardly going to cause you any problems. If for some reason someone does have a need for this data all they need to do is collect a glass you've used and then they'll probably have both.

So what about this?

David Wood alerted police when he saw the boy at Newton station in Hyde, Greater Manchester - but claims they did not take the incident seriously.

The youth was caught on CCTV but had gone by the time police arrived.

Police say a senior officer decided an armed response was not needed, though officers arrived within 15 minutes.

I don't blame the police for their reaction, maybe they were just being cautious since he could easily have discarded the weapon and used his mp3 player as diversion. Obviously in retrospect their reaction was excessive, but they didn't know all the details, nor could they be sure.

It's the tit who phoned the police in the first place that needs a slap.

Wow.
Staffordshire Police said a member of the public reported seeing a man pull a gun from his pocket, grip it with both hands and aim.

A spokesman added: 'An operation was put in place and a man matching the description was detained.'

I have no idea how someone can mistake that MP3 player for a gun, or how they can say the person gripped & aimed.

Maybe they got the wrong guy and the actual person got away?
Difficult to believe though, as they obviously had him on CCTV. How can you mistake someone using an MP3 player for someone aiming a gun? Unbelievable!

Bloody pathetic, they should wipe all records of this guy, both written and DNA, and then offer a complete and frank public apology!

]No weapon was found on him at the time but he was taken into custody on suspicion while the surrounding area where he had been was searched.

Why search the surrounding area if he was reported as he got on a bus and then arrested as he stepped off it, all followed by CCTV? Maybe it was to make it look like you're actually doing something useful rather than making a complete and utter ****-up! Then again, it is the Staffordshire police and policing is one thing they don't do too well at all.

How are the police making the arrest at fault in anyway, they were told he'd been seen with a gun! They were the ones who saw him using an mp3 player but thought it could have been a gun.

Apologize for what exactly??? They quickly investigated the report made to them and came to the apparently correct conclusion that it was a mistaken witness and released him. The whole process was documented (as with everything they do) and these documents were filed.

I don't think anyone should have to give an apology. The police were acting on a 999 call saying someone had a gun... The guy that called (is an idiot) was trying to get someone with a gun put away, he just made a mistake.

The MP3 player guy should have his record deleted though.

i think everyones details should be on recored would make solving crimes easier tbh

And loads of people being wrongly convicted and defrauded...

Stupid caller should have been arrested for wasting police time and forced to get glasses.
