I nice chappy from the beeb has been to Sony UK and was allowed to play with the new Play TV add on for the PS3.
The highlight of this article is the forthcoming functionality to allow TV to be recorded whilst you are playing games etc
Basically you can indeed turn your PS3 in to a fully functioning PVR. Of course you may need a bigger HD drive. Some might say "a HD + Play TV is dearer than a standalone PVR" - you will be right but this is cool for an all-in-one solution and for pople who dont like stacks of boxes under the telly. You need to factor in the sling box like functionality with the PSP too. No doubt you can set recordings remotely with the PSP too
