anywhere other than o2 doing n82 deals?

something along the lines of free handset and at least 200 mins (sms not important) for cheapy cheapy. don't mind 18 month, had the last handset 5 years!

I've been looking for this too. I think we just need to hang on another month or 2 for availability and pricing to improve.

When the N95 came out it was very expensive to begin with. People were buying it for over £500

I got my N82 from o2 for free.
I fibbed and said Dial a phone were giving it away for free. They didnt check (after originally wanting to charge me 89 quid) and I got my N82 for free.
My mate just told the same fib a week back, and she too now has an N82 for free.
We were both on a contract, and were due for renewal mind.

How naughty of you, telling lies to the people in the shop :p

Thanks for sharing that though :D

Was hoping to get one of these but Orange said they won't have them for ages (if at all) .....

Not lies, fibs! Haven't heard the expression in a while. Makes it sound less naughty.
I see no problem in doing that though, it's just like bartering really, they're not going to give you a deal they won't profit off.

Knip, you were on O2 already and negotiated an upgrade/contract renewal deal?

I'm poised to leave vodafone and was planning on heading to O2 anyway, it just so happens they have the phone I want. You're happy with the N82 so far, yea?

I was kidding :(

In this day and age you have to barter for lots of things, makes it more fun! :)

I realised you were kidding dude. But yea, I like a barter. I've always bartered with vodafone on contract renewals but when I'm only paying £25 a month they aren't so giving as £45 a month people (£240 difference over a year) and I don't get amazing deals

I didnt do it with the people in the shop, I rang them and said I was looking at an ad in the paper, I quoted them the whole deal I just substituted the words "N95 8gb", for "N82"

Yes I was an existing o2 customer, have been for the whole time I have owned mobile phones. You could try saying "Vodafone are offering me the n82 for oooooh lets say 25 quid, what can you offer me, because ive heard lots of good things about you"

The n82 is simply a brilliant phone, I cannot say enough good things about it.

Thank you.

I need to send back my rubbish Samsung U600 to get repaired, give my month's notice. Then the bartering can begin!
I really want this N82. Especially as the Samsung was a let down and I'm now back on my old SE K750 with bust joystick

O2 are doing this phone free instore - £35 a month (18months) gets you 600 minutes and unlimited texts. Phone is free too.

I'm waiting for the black one now though :S

Thing that surprises me is that no one other than 02 or CPW are stocking this phone; thought everyone would have it? Only thing i can think of is they are holding off for black/special edition ones? Cant see them just not stocking this phone?

Don't they sometimes buy exclusivity over other networks for a period of time?

With the SE K810i, vodafone told me it wasn't available initially on their network because it was incompatible with their software. I called BS but maybe it was true

CPW had the rights for all of Jan apparently (told by CPW and T-Mobile). Other networks have just said they arent getting it - but i think thats crap.

BS??

Short update. I got my U600 back from repair but they didn't repair it, claiming it is water damaged?! I never dropped it in anything, worst was a splash. So that annoyed me.

Anyway, I've phoned vodafone and written my cancellation letter so in within 1 month I've got to find a new deal and I'm still wanting the N82.

I'll post back what I've found with the deals but interested if other people get a good one with this phone. I'm going to O2 only but it seems like they are the only people with the phone anyway atm.

Direct from O2 store they do it for free with £35 a month, 600 mins, with free bolt-on inc web browsing which is tempting but I'd expect there's better deals out there
