Weird, I never had any problems when playing Drake's or Motorstorm, nor have the triggers ever been an issue.I agree with the OP, after an hour of Motorstorm my right hand is in agony. You have to grip the pad tightly with your two smallest fingers and the bass of your thumb, otherwise you can't keep your finger on the trigger because the shape of the trigger doesn't keep your finger in place. Even doing this my finger still slips off the trigger and I'm constantly having to adjust my hand position. Pick up your PS3 pad, pull the right trigger fully and press X hard and tell me that's comfortable.
Same thing with Drakes, after an hour my left thumb is sore from having to stretch over to the left analogue stick. The d-pad is used so little now so IMO it shouldn't be the primary control.
The reason peope are noticing this is because there's now a better ergonomic (although nowhere near perfect) pad to compare to, plus the PS2 pad didn't have these awful triggers. It does look like Sony put little effort into the PS3 pads. Surely all the testers (assuming they tested it) told them the triggers curve the wrong way
It's not 'deal breaking' bad though, I still think the PS3 is a good piece of kit overall.
I don't think there's any right or wrong here tbh, it must simply suit some hands a lot better than others.
