Xbox 360 Four Red Lights (Chipped)

Hi all, my brother as got one of the first Xbox360 Premiums that came out, shortly after he got it chipped so he could play backup games but now he as the four red lights, is his console still legible to be repaired/exchanged or is it void ?

Definitely void since its an internal mod.

Since this is a Microsoft Approved Modification, I'm sure they will give you the silver service .....

Aye, 4 red lights normally means no AV cable is detected.

ok, apparently he says he turns it on and the is 3 red lights the console boots to the main menu then the screen goes fuzzy and the 4 red lights come on ?

The only way i can see you getting it fixed is sending it off to a third party repair centre. the only thing is they will not be fully qualified and you dont know whether it can be fixed or not.

Most probably the easiest solution is to sell it as having the RROD.

I hate to take the moral high ground, but if you chip the console so that you can play 'backup games', I very much doubt MS will welcome your console with open arms.

However even if it wasn't no as its only a 1 year warranty and the premium has been out a lot longer than that

Doesn't really apply here either, as he's getting 3 red rings as it starts (but somehow manages to get to the main menu) and then turns into 4 red rings.

TBH, just sounds like the modchip has screwed his 360.

You can send it back, a lot of people have got away with it if you were careful when opening the case.

Few weeks back i read somewher MS are taking a lot longer to repair consoles to check if they have been modified. doubt now much will slip past unless its been professionally done.
