Hi All,

Just filling out my application form etc for the 5 free HD DVD's we can claim as a result of getting the Xbox 360 HD DVD drive.
It states that I need to send off the form, the receipt and the HD DVD drives Barcode......does that mean just cut out the barcode from the box, or write a note of the barcode number on the application form?

I have until the end of this month, so no rush. Just want to make sure I give them the correct info

Cheers
Rob

I'd imagine they want the actual barcode cut from the box, its probably for proof of ownership (as anyone can get a reciept ;))

I got a HD-DVD drive back when they first came out! I don't have the receipt but I have the box. Can I get 5 free films aswel?

not wanting to upset you, but why on earth did you buy a HD-DVD drive? The format is as good as dead...

I wouldn't buy a HD-DVD drive right now, but for the price vs usage I think people can still get their money's worth out of HD-DVD. It's clearly not a long term investment, but I wouldn't class a HD-DVD add on that requires a console as a long term investment anyway.

If they go cheap enough it makes sense to cash in on the looming massive price cuts. Imagine when every shop dumps their stock to get rid of it all.

That and the fact I didn't buy it, it was a christmas present :)

HD DVD is an ultra cheap way to enjoy HD movies. The fact that the BDA has bribed WB with a huge payout to go exclusive doesn't really matter, the "war" had to end sometime
The wrong format is winning, BD is over priced and firmware updates are so far a joke. The tossers at sony have finally released a format that might actually catch on :)

I got my DVDs today, didnt cut the barcode out though, just wrote the number on the form where it asks for it and a photocopy of the receipt. Took maybe three weeks for me and im looking forward to watching a couple of them later :).

"The original barcode located......"

Says this - so I would cut it out and send it.
You don't need to cut the barcode out, they're not going to ask you to destroy the box are they. The barcode number is what they want, although finding the correct one was a bit of a pain since there are 4 or 5 barcode type numbers in the same place.

I got my DVD's just after Christmas...they were great :) As for the barcode, I had a peel off sticker on my HD-DVD drive which I just attached to the form. Didn't have to cut the box!
