My boss is a total car nut and spends large sums of cash on fast cars.. including in order that I can remember them -

Skyline
Ferrari Terstarossa
Ferrari 550
M5
Jag XKR 450
Various 'R' type jags
Ferrari 360CS
Lamborgini Gallardo <-- kept this for 2 wks for new lol
Ferrari 430 Spider <-- this stayed for about 3 months
On order Audi R8 :( (though its the faster model whatever that is)

Anyway, thats by the by, his current stop gap car is a 05 911 Turbo with 550BHP remap (from 410 odd standard) and a lot of cash thrown at suspension... it's almost a Porshe sleeper if there is such a thing.

Gonna do some straight line roll ons with standard Kwak ZX10R (approx 180 BHP) from different speeds, wondering what the outcome is gonna be. Corners im gonna forget as im a wuss and he's a track day loon.

I'm guessing at higher speeds it's not gonna be much in it, though i confident from around 70-150 I should (on paper) destroy him before aerodynamics come into play..and below that he has no chance.

Will post back once I have some results... *gulp*

Straight line roll ons nothing short of a bugatti will beat a bike lol. with standard gearing the bike will be doing 0-60 in just over 3 seconds and 100 in under 6, 70-150 would still be easy i think, as 70 on a ZX10R is still first gear, youve just got to keep the front end down lol put all your weight on the front :p, if he wants to do any top gear roll ons though you might be in trouble :p
What year is your ZX? the more modern ones are good for nearly 180 mph
GL dont come back if you dont win :p

In a straight line, the bike is going to win at least until high speeds and wrist strength start coming into this. At low speeds you may have the problem of not being able to use full throttle on the bike and keep the front wheel down, which may slow you down a bit.

If you actually do a timed lap, I'd expect the car to win due to better braking and cornering performance.

If you have a stationary start then from maybe 0-130 you'll be in the lead, after this the car will probably overtake. As has been mentioned you can lose time if you can't get all the power down at the start ie puling wheelies. Also might depend on how quick you can change gears. As for roll ons, I've no idea, not sure at what speed you wouldn't be able to pull away from the car.

Im not sure how quick this car can do a 1/4 mile but from doing some google searches the bike can do a 1/4 in about 10 seconds at nearly 150mph.
Anyone got any average times for the 911 Tubro, i know it will be out as this ones got more BHP but will be usefull.
If your a good enough rider i dont reckon the car will be coming past you untill at least 160, the car will be fast though so any mistakes and he will have you no prob with traction control and all that other easy drive crap ;)

I'd back the car. If its the DMS remap he's had it adds enormous torque, and the porker should be 4wd. He can plant his foot and that's all he has to do. you have to worry about the front wheel, drain covers and pot holes etc. A 550 bhp porsche is a very very quick car.

If you can get the power down on the bike then i'd put my money on you however if you can't then as above, i'd go with the porsche

bike will slaughter it up to 150 assuming you don't bottle it. 150 on a bike feels very very fast - I hope you're doing it on a track/runway. Autocar and motor did 0-100-0 tests and only the veyron beat a gsxrx, and even then that was only the braking part. In real life though the 911 takes a lot less skill/bravery/madness to drive quickly compared to a bike

Straight line drag... bike any day of the week, anyone who says otherwise simply doesnt understand how fast 1000cc bikes are.

All these are assuming the rider can use its power properly, 0-xxx mph can be a little tricky but even with a average start the bike will soon overtake. I reckon the bike will probably get it its 183MPH max speed way before aerodynamics come into play, I assume this isnt a 4mile straight line race? :)

Either way, we're talking about a fairly tuned, pretty expensive supercar that not many people can afford vs a standard £8000-8500 (when new, sub £6k 2nd hand) sports bike that most people can afford, hell a new Ford Fiesta is more expensive :)

From something like 50-150mph my money is on the bike.

I've personally humped a 400bhp r33 skyline on a 99 R6 with only 120bhp and lots of revs and clutchless shifts...

Oh and also a 420bhp RS4 come to think of it!

Another sobering fact: 2007 ZX10r has 173bhp and weighs 175kg...

988bhp per tonne

997 turbo is 1585 kg and with 550bhp that makes ...

347bhp per tonne

Although its not going to be 100% accurate, it gives a good impression of what performance to expect from a 4WD car - letstorquebhp has kicked out these stats for the porker:

Power at Flywheel (BHP) : 550
Weight without Driver (KG) : 1585
Power to Weight Ratio (BHP Per Ton) : 352.57
0 - 60 (Secs) : 3.34
0 - 100 (Secs) : 7.64
60 - 100 (Secs) : 4.30

Exactly!

We have a looney in very capable car and a guy that value his life strapped to an ANIMAL of a bike!!

That on its own evens the odds.

Call me a wimp, but Id much prefer to be in the car regardless of whether I win or not :o
