Human Rights Watch has appealed to Saudi Arabia to halt the execution of a woman convicted of witchcraft.

The illiterate woman was detained by religious police in 2005 and allegedly beaten and forced to fingerprint a confession that she could not read.

Among her accusers was a man who alleged she made him impotent.

I found this part more disturbing.

Also Ms Falih and her representatives were not allowed to attend most of the hearings.

When an appeal court decided she should not be executed, the law courts imposed the death sentence again, arguing that it would be in the public interest.

Very disturbing, but then again, much of what Saudi Arabia do is disturbing to those living in the west. It's just a shame that our leaders like them for the oil.

I look forward to the day that the world breaks free from its dependance on oil. We can then sit back and smile as this backward nation falls apart.

problem is by then they will be able to take down a large amount of innocents who aren't as nutty as the leader ship and are just keeping their heads down, to avoid things like this.

I've said this before, and I'll probably say it again...

The only reason I can see for not turning Saudi into glass is that we need their oil.

Well their going to have Euro fighters soon aren't that so it's going to get a little more difficult.

We also need their airbases for middle east missions, (which is one of the things osama was so miffed at)

Not really. They won't have anything like the pilots we have. Nor the numbers or support.

Dunno about numbers I though their air force was massive?

and now days though missiles are fired over the horizon so piloting skills are negated a bit first, but in close range i think ours would be far superior from combat experience alone.
