Vigilante 8 Coming to XBLA

Xbox Live Arcade fans rejoice, as your prayers have finally been answered; Activision has confirmed that the vehicular combat game, Vigilante 8, will be resurrected for the Xbox Live Arcade service under the moniker Vigilante 8: Arcade.

Going hand in hand with the rumors sparked last Spring is information that Isopod Labs, a development studio founded by the members of the team behind the original, will be developing the remake. Also revealed was that the title will feature eight-player online battles and a number of new, yet-to-be-revealed additions. For more on the game, have a look at the official website.

i preferred twisted metal 1+2, but this was still in the same vein and was pretty good, a liked the crazy characters in twisted metal though and blowing up eiffel tower was always funny.

I seem to remember I had a version on the N64(maybe wrong though) and I enjoyed it immensely.

Interstate 76 is where its really at. Potential for a great arcade game this has.

It was on N64 I had it on there. Multilayer it was great, I imagine if you played the n64 one now it would be terrible. I remember it used the expansion pack and it had quite an impressive bank of sound effects for the time.

Vigilante 8: Second Offense was immense on PSX with a multitap. <3

Won't be as good online though, hopefully it'll have a splitscreen mode too.

Yeah the n64 with 4 player split screen filled many a weekend of mine when i was younger.

Only XBLA game I may consider buying. Used to play this with my bro on our ps. But I imagine the memories are vastly superior to the actual game.

Aww Interstate '76 was legendary!! Me and my mate used to play that with one of us shooting and the other driving. One of my first PC gaming experiences.

I loved and I mean LOVED this game BUT would only buy it again if it is splitscreen! I really CBA to play it solely online, I mean I hardly enjoy burnout paradise due to no splitscreen
