What are you suggesting? Would you like us all to ask a supernatural being to help us sort out the problems? I'd prefer we have a discussion about how or why its happening, perhaps change the law or the help we give to those who are a mentally ill. I don't know the answer, if I did I'd let you all know but i'm just trying to make the point that burying your head in the sand is useless

Also you say logic means that a Christian can see both sides of the morality abortion, yet refuse to believe that that an atheist would be able to use logic to decide, because they don't have a religious text to guide them.
There probably was an evolutionary advantage to being hostile to other "tribes" or packs, competing for food for example. I think that's been true until very recently in evolutionary terms. As such there wouldn't be a noticeable difference yet. Maybe in another million years there will be. It depends how society develops since we've come to the stage where our society influences which traits are beneficial for passing on our genes.

Random experiment, you seam to miss this little facet of evolution its not a guided and intelligent process its just random, some time it makes pointless curiosities sometimes it creates something spectacular.
it's logically OK to bang your mum, as if your both consenting it does no harm to anyone (although it does arguably, physiologically), but it's not ethical.

ok so it was an "experiment", if evolution is survival of the fittest how did it come about through an unconscious experiment?
ethics are derived from logic though, ie it is impossible to make a purley logical desicion about your mother due to the massive influence she would have had when you where a child.
no, we're discussing where morals come from be that wrong morals or correct morals.

Well, from an evolutionary viewpoint it is deleterious so not much use when viewing it like that, it would be considered an 'error'. That doesn't mean it necessarily disproves evolution and natural selection. Our species suffers from numerous inherited diseases as well that haven't been eradicated yet even though they are deleterious.
