Nice weather....bikes come out to play!

I've ridden all winter......and yes I got bloody cold AND at times wet knackers :(

Wet and cold cos decent winter kit costs hundreds of pounds that I simply don't have.

Greasy winter roads after weeks of salt can be dodgy, but great for improving your smoothness.

I hate biking in the wet and cold, best thing I ever bought was a one piece waterproof covering, Its so much easier to stay warm if your dry.

I used to be an all year rider, back when my motorbike was my only form of transport, I remeber calling all the fair weather bikers rotten :p

I cant say it didnt improve my riding skills, especally throttle control and sliding the rear wheel. but looking back it wasnt nice, falling off on ice loses its appeal after a couple of times, and water getting into places it has no right to be, also can loose its charm. British winters also have a nasty habbit of turning a well looked after bike into a shed within no time.

Now I have a car as well I only use the bike when its dry.

I dusted off the R1 myself over the weekend, its still got the chewed up Pilot Power Race tyres on from lat year, getting rid of the marbles was a little hairy :D

Im hoping to try and put a few miles on the thing this year, last year was a joke, I only did around 800 miles, most of which were on the track, most of this was due to the lack of summer last year. heres hoping this year will be better :)

edit: My brother just knocked round with his new toy, hes sold his ZX9R and picked up Honda SP1, its got a full race system on it and sounds completly bonkers, sets off car alarms as he goes past, makes me want a V Twin next

I love biking but cannot see the enjoyment in riding in bad conditions. I cannot see where the excitement would come from. Being on a bike is vulnerable at the best of times never mind with bad conditions.

Cheers :)

I used to commute to London by bike every day for 5 years. Having done that for so long, the thought of riding in the rain just doesn't appeal.
Besides, the RSV is way too shiny :)

I can't wait to get my bike back on the road again.

New trick suspension bits and bobs arrived today so I'll be fitting those ASAP, getting bits powdercoated and getting the bike back together. I can't bleedin' wait!

Ride all year around, all weathers, cant say i enjoy it but then id rather ride for 15 mins in the rain with only my hands getting abit cold, than sit in a car for near on an hour to then drive around for ages to find a parking spot and pay for it.

I am the same, i use my bike all year round, no matter what the weather. Its not as enjoyable but its my form of transport, and it saves me a lot of time getting through traffic and finding parking.

Going to try and get the bike out today, might take it a run up by moffat. Hopefully will be up hartside on friday, hope the weather is nice.

Well i couldnt resist going up hartside, the weather was just so nice on tuesday i had to go!
