I have GeIL 2GB (2x1GB) PC2-6400C5 800MHz Value DDR2 Dual Channel Kit (GX22GB6400DC) memory installed in a Gigabyte GA-P31-DS3L motherboard.

The memory is advertised as 5 5 5 15 and the stickers on the memory also say 5 5 5 15. The bios SPD detects the memory as 5 5 5 18 and If I run CPU-Z it also says that the memory is 5 5 5 18.

Does anyone else have this problem with this memory? is the memory faulty or marked up wrong?

Ignore this, I've just found out that the Geil memory has safe settings for the SPD. I have set it to 5 5 5 15 in the bios.

Yes i heard that the geil reports its ram in slack/safe mode so that it aids compatability, just change settings in bios youll be fine, make sure your volts are at 2.1v though!1

I thought that this memory was supposed to run at 5 5 5 15 @ 1.8v?
