So in preperation for R-Fest in may (R32oc trip to the ring, so far about 40 r32's signed up), here is my Before ring service :D.

New oil filter
New fuel filter
New coil packs
New Spark plugs
New MAF x2
New front + rear discs and pads
new VWMS Upper strut bearings
H&R front and rear race arb's (probably only fit the rear to help reduce understeer)
whole new bushing set
Complete engine flush with all new oil.
Clean intake port and throttle body with realignment

That is the pre-lim list as a Definite. The below list is what hopefully will be done before i go but isnt definite.

New wheels + tyres (keeping the oz's as spares)
Front end respray (yes yes, its been a while coming i know) aswell as all over touch up on whatever is needed.
Custom-Code stage 2 map to accomodate the decat pipe
And some of that protective film for when the bodywork has been done.

Dont think ive missed anything, other than the obvious bits that if anything is needed it will be done.

:D

I cant help but think that its likely that a lot of that wont actually make any difference! Coil pack for example? Thats not even a consumable....

Crikey !

Thats one hell of a service :D

Hope your using a flushing oil before doing the oil change.

Forte motor flush is good.

I wouldn't use that stuff I were you, I've heard some nasty stories about it causing engine seizures and all sorts of other engine related problems just after using the stuff or during its use.

Engine oils these days are full of additives to stop the build up of crud, Waynor probably uses something hi-spec anyway so he should be alright with just warming the engine up and dropping the old oil out :)

They have a habbit of failing for no reason, not something you want mid trip, the latest versions seem to be fine and not that expensive.

On some cars it can be. On my Focus it is :D:o, they have a nasty habit of cracking. Luckily it's a five minute job, just got to make sure not to mess up the firing order when you plug the HT leads back in :p.

Have you ordered those Jap rims yet? I'm currently craving after some Rays Progressive ME's myself for the Golf, but can't work out where to order them from in the UK.

i am :D

Big roll of gaffer tape :p

but the spares list is pads, brake fluid, couple of coilpacks so far. Will no doubt add to it. as there is nearly 40 r32's going im pretty sure we will all be taking spares of some sort.

Don't know how much they are for VW but on my volvo coil packs are £45-£50 each.

I won't be chaning them unless they pack in at that price
