At the moment I am using the coreavc codec for h.264 video and WMP9 codec for VC-1 video. However, is there a way of using UVD without using all in one packages like PowerDVD? The problem with PowerDVD is that I cant play files in an mkv container since i cant get it to use haali media splitter.

Does anyone know if windows media player will eventually support hi-def acceleration?

VLC? Media Player Classic?

Hopefully more players will support MKV containers soon, it really is the way forward imo.

I can play mkv files fine since coreavc works will media splitter fine. But basically i want to use the combination UVD+h.264+mkv. Coreavc can do the latter 2 and powerdvd the former, but nothing i can find do all 3.
