Ok, have my wireless router with 2 laptops using wireless for it. My wii connects for updates, but it seems to drop the connection quite easily. It's not that far away from the router, through a fairly thin wall. It's a buffalo airstation i'm using, recommended for the nintendo wifi.

I also have the usb dongle from before i wifi'ed the house, however, it doesn't seem to work well plugging the usb wifi dongle into a laptop that has another wifi dongle to connect to the router.

Any one have any ideas or suggestions? I haven't found the ninty wifi site too helpful.

p.s. My wii seems to connect mostly ok for the channels but simply won't connect if it's through a game online, ie battalion wars.

I have a similar problem with my Wii, it takes me forever to grab updates because the signal drops. The wi-fi in the Wii is a total piece of garbage. It's right next to my PS3 which hasn't dropped a connection in months and months, the Wii will do it every time I try to do something online. I just don't bother any more.

Works perfect for me with my WRT54G, unlike my PS3.

i've yet to ave a problem with my wrt54gs, iirc the wii tends to work best on a couple of particular wireless channels.

yep wrt54gs here and everything is fine .

i have my lads pc , 2 ds"s and the wii. even a daft lad like me managed to set it up

cheers

And yet another WRT54G user here. On Channel 11 also, WPA2 and using the MAC filter. Most of my neighbours wireless networks security levels are so low I don't even know why I bother subscirbing to broadband I should just connect to their networks! :)

Have not experienced any problems with the Wii dropping so far. I am guessing you have the latest firmware installed? Would port forwarding apply to the gaming problem you mention?

Im forced to use a home hub also.. Its the biggest pile of **** ive used to date. Hate the thing.

I have it on channel 1 now and i could connect to the wfc last night but the connection dropped during data transfer all the time. :(

Just wanted to give battalion wars a bash online.

Edit: updated the usb software and it's working perfect! Gonna try moving my wii a bit closer for normal router connection.
