3870X2 and Antec P180

It's about as long as an 8800GTX so should fit as long as you don't have any HDD's in the way in the upper HDD tray.

If i were you though i'd just remove the tray and let the 120mm fan blow directly over the X2.

You'll also need to bear in mind where your SATA ports are located too, as I've got a P5K deluxe, I want to get a 3870X2 but I don't know if it will block my SATA ports or not, especially as I have all of them in use at the moment.

Ive the 182 version of that case, fits in the top bay fine

Gerard - did your Toughpower 850 come with a 8 pin PCI-E Power cable then ?

all the reviews I read and lots of specs say they are all 6 pin PCI- E?

I think the psu was revised to include them. Mine came with 2x 8 pin connectors and 2 6>8 pin adaptors.

Gerard,
Can you tell me what mobo and heatsink you are using mate ?
Looks like a maximum formula x38. Planning on building one of these in a P182, with same video card as you. Just wondering what cpu heatsink will fit i.e. tuniq tower. Thanks.

Far as i remember both fit on that mobo, i have a tuniq tower somewhere and a thermalright ultra extreme 120, cant remember if i used the tuniq on this mobo but it was on another mobo in this case.

I have the P180 and had a 3870x2 for a brief period. I can tell you that it fits in easily, there is no need to remove the middle HDD tray.

I also have a 120mm fan fitted in front of the middle HDD tray and it doesnt impede airflow.

Get right angled cables and the card will sit just above them.

Obviously you'll have to remove the card to access the ports but it won't stop you using them.

Gerard,I hope you remembered to screw the GFX card into the PCI plates after you took the photo lol,
