PC Gaming Is Dead!

I played sins of the solar empire , my brother watched and said that looks too difficult too much to do... I said well that's why consoles are so good for kids :D , he said i agree they're easy to play

Yeah, PC gaming is dead.....I remember doom-sayers ranting about it when PS1 came out years ago, and every console since. /yawn

I actually think PC gaming is as healthy as it's ever been, it's just that consoles are big now as well (lots of choice is good imo), and this is coming from someone that remembers the 'old days'. Infact, back then PC gaming sucked, except for the Amiga (which was years ahead of its time and totally rocked!)

frontier elite if i remember correctly, or was that commodore?

To make pc gaming easier and cheaper to develop they should split the industry into sections.

1st section is companies making the AI engines, rag dolls and other things to do with coding.

2nd section is a company that develops the graphics for there employers.

3rd company develops the ui and installation etc.

4th company should develop the sound.

Then said company making the game then combines the 4 to create the game, that increase production time, reduces the chance of producing crap games as the said company has time to create a great story line.

no that just increases costs, no real point in that the only reason games lack at the moment is there to lazy to think about gameplay and are just pouring in stunning graphics to wow you.
the pc games industry isnt hurting so those kinds of actions really arnt needed and i dont think would help to improove things as there all taken care of by differant sections of a company any way and not just a soul group devoloping the game.

ROFL try it that would make it stupidly expensive to make anything, and result in a terribly incompatible mess of dodgy coding which would take months to sort out bugs etc, with it being so hard to get good communications between companies, and in the end a bunch of symmetrical flat games, which apparently don't have anyone designing the plot or storey.

In some ways I have to agree slightly. Ive recently splashed out just under £1k for a new rig, and I have hardly used it adn when I have used it, its been simply for a quick blast on CSS, and I can do that on my laptop. Since early last year I have very rarely used *** PC and have used either the PS3 or Xbox 360 daily.

I need new games to play on the PC. I didnt find Crysis all that brilliant, and as far as I can see theres not really anything bar Far Cry 2 that is of interest to me.

Alan wake for starters looks a brilliant game, Age of conan also looks to be a good title and if they sort out the crap that hinded R6-VEGAS the 2nd installmant should also be quite a game.
fual of war looks stunning and seems as if it will carry a great story line and of course the long awaited assasins creed should also be great
all these in the next couple months should test your pc quite well.

Guess the traditional gamers are just bored of games on pc.
I dunno I'm not a true fps gamer, I loved mohaas for years and love cod4 now, but my roots are still with strategy games nothing beats a nice all nighter of civilization 4 or a quick lan bash on RA2 or a nice supreme commander match.
I guess I'd be bored too if I didn't have my strategy games ( be it worms or civ4 or supcom ) to fall back to.

You're forgetting that trolls are semi-mythical and as such they age differently to us humans. :)

hahah :)

There should be a POLL for bannign Ibot. But the question is, would the person who made the poll also get banned for trolling?

I thik its a worthy sacrafice, therefore i vote Azagoth to do it :)

dont get me wrong i love a good game of worms and ra2 i just think in the air of todays games its just so hard to make a game of that type that will take off as well as they used to, dev's just tend to shy away from them now or make poor ones.

Was more a reply to stellios but okay.
I know recent games aren't that great anymore, but they're still good none the less imo.
Devs spend too much time actually modelling and stuff I think than actually testing if it's fun and addicting and making the neccesary changes for that.
