Blank canvass

Both sound like extreme projects, but, with extreme results!

As far as engine swaps go, both are about as 'bolt in' as they come. The BMW could be completed with mostly OEM bits and bobs (other than the turbot conversion) but the Volvo would need a lot of custom bits and parts adapted from other marques.

I'd like some kind of american muscle given the opportunity. Hemi Cuda maybe?

Lots of money involved. At least, lots if we're talking an original Hemi car. Slightly less money if you take any old E-body 'Cuda, weld a Hemi K-frame into it and drop in a big Hemi - 426ci "Elephant" right through to 528ci "King Kong".

VW 1303, T2 box, TSR adaptors, Subaru 4-pot (did they do a 2.5 or is my memory failing me again?) running standalone management and plenty of boost. 5-stud conversion using 924 hubs, 944 or 928 brakes and rolling on 16x8 teledials all round, coilovers at the front and generally sorted suspension.

Fiat 127 (mk1) running a hot 16v FIRE mill with bike TBs and an Eaton M45 set for 7psi. Clean original bodywork, full chromework and 12x8 quad bike rims.

Probably an S15 Type R

SR20 engine which is very tunable, an excellent chassis, plenty of parts and it looks a lot more modern than the S13/14 models.

Mid 90's Range Rover, ditch the Rover V8 and go blown 454 Chevy power. Nice 454 marine block with blower cam, ally heads and B&M megablower. Should all fit under the RR bonnet and looking for about 550-600hp. Lose the 4WD and run through the back wheels only. Tub it out but run it at stock height with massive knobblies at the back and race people along dual carriageways overtaking them on the grass verge.

I was going to say an S15, but everybody has already said that, so I'll say a Skyline R32 GTR.

Satin black, stripped, caged and purposefull looking. Oh, and around 600-700bhp.

:D

For me it would have to be a Mk3 Mondeo, big lump v8 (fit?) turbo'd and RWD, sleeper :p

Rebuilt a late 80's Schuler/Overfinch RR a few years ago, 6.3 Chevy SB, FF/Chrysler tranny and lowered by a couple of inches, that was a fun car till it came to filling the tanks.

I think I'd go for the same as above, only with the 4WD and a bit more of a sleeper look, maybe a old series body or a 2 door rangey.

Current car is long term project, other than that would have to be a split screen camper for me. Put in a VAG turbo engine but with standard power and just sort the bodywork with a house of kolor spray job. They're not fast (except that mental ring bus) but I always wanted one.

Prob would have to be a Jap car with a turbo in it, or I wouldnt mid putting a Escort Cosworth engine in a Series 1 Turbo.
