The Return of The Champions League - *SPOILERS* - 19/20 Feb

Plain and simple really, nothing is as it seems any more.

Rules mean nothing, it's all down to interpretation by the ref.

Was it Mascherano who tackled Cruz from behind and got nothing (okay not exactly a two footed wreckless challenge but still a tackle from behind), yet two slight tugs and some theatrics from Torres = 2 yellows?

Agree with you 100% there. As the commentator has already said, the Ref is definatly on the Home teams side.

Mascherano went for the ball with a fair, harmless challenge. How is tugging someone's shirt attemping to get the ball?

Not joking at all, and you've just totally contradicted yourself. It either is a shirt pull or it isn't, and if it is, the rules of the game state that a yellow card should be given for a shirt pull.

A yellow card should also be given for a dive.

Not to warrent a yellow card and a sending off it was'nt. It was a stupid decission from the Ref and pointless.

As said above, a yellow card should be for a dive aswell.

It was a tackle from behind and he didn't get the ball. Supposedly that's a yellow card (sometimes worse) am I not right?

You could argue that MM was jostling with Torres, to be fair Torres' touch took it too far from both men and Torres went down.

Fully expect a 10 men 2nd half shup up shop and nick one display from Inter, with Liverpool despite having majority time on the ball; fail to do anything with it...

Try not to let your ego get in the way of an adult discussion ;). Go and read the rules of football please.

Again, there are no rules. Only laws. Before being condescending ensure you know what you're talking about.
Falling over is not the same as a dive. I take it you have played football?

Yep, I've played a lot of football. Tell me you weren't fooled by Torres's dive too. The ref has an excuse, he doesn't get to see replays.

Just watched the foul again (love my Media Centre :))

He grabs Torres on his shoulder, nothing more than you'll probably see for the rest of the game.

Torres gets around him, the ball hits him in his knee and loses control... Torres goes to his knees.

edit: No way it deserved a yellow
