Hi there,

Wasn't sure if this was the right part of the forum but anyway!...

Is there anything (besides her doing the dusting lol) that you can do to keep down the level of dust in your home. As usual it's the electronic items that attract the most and we constantly seem to be dusting them down.

The house is clean (before I have comments to the contrary ;)) and we've had new carpets throughout. Anyways it's starting to **** me off now!

Do these Ionisiers or whatever they're called help with this problem?

Any suggestions?

Doubt there is much you can do about it.

Most of it is dead skin and hair that is constantly being sloughed off bodies so unless you all walk around in plastic bags you'll have a hard time reducing that.

Not true! Most dust is in fact simply dirt, made up from local rock and soil etc. depending on your location, as to it's composition. The skin thing is a myth. I think if you place your house in a vacuum sealed "clean room" you will be fine. Also I would wear one of those white suits with a gas mask.

I presume replacing curtains with blinds would be a good idea? I get quite a lot of dust in the house and it does my head in. Isn't there something that can be done like ionising the air (would that make dust clump together?) and having a filtered fan?

We have wooden floors too, we occasionally get tumble weed style dust going along the floor (we don't dust that often)

Same here. If I don't hoover under the sofa then it develops a matted carpet under there after a year.

I've got a dehumidifier with a fan and dust + anti-bacterial filter which does a good job of stopping condensation but does nothing to prevent dust buildup.
