Hi guys, had a browse but not really found a definitive answer... indeed there probably even isn't one but i thought i'd ask anyway.

I run a 1920x1200 panel and want to play the newest games at decent (medium+) settings.

Do you think i'd be best adding another 3850 to my PC or moving on to an 8800GT/GTS/GTX or 3870X2?

Really can't decide as the prices vs performance (especially at this res) are quite close.

Thanks in advance. :)

Well since you have a nice x38 chipset then I would get another 3850pro....pencil mod them both to around 900-950mhz core and they should be plenty fast.

Otherwise if you want a single GPU setup then the GTX is really the only way to go for that resolution.

Sweet. Thanks Gurusan,

Thought as much. Didn't you have 2 originally? Also were you @ 1920x1200?

Nope never had 2...and I game at 1680x1050. The 3850pro handles this res great with UT3 and CoD4....I'm a bit overclocked to 930core though....2 of them should handle 1920x1200 fine.

but yeah IMO there's no point in buying a 3870x2 when you already have a 3850 512mb and a x38 board.
