Corsair 6pin to 8pin

sorry to hijack your thread

i have one of these as well and am about to buy a 3870x2, do i need one 6-8 pin adapters or two ?

If i cant get one from corsair, can i buy one from OC ? ( cant find one in the cables section )

thanks

There is one 6-pin slot and one 8-pin slot.

The card will run fine with 2 x 6-pin connectors, however you will be unable to use ATI's overclocking tool.

That said, if overclocking is important to you, you can download third party software which does not differentiate between 2 x 6-pin, or 1 x 6-pin and 1 x 8-pin.

thanks for that

i've also sent a support request to Corsair re this as i'd like to get a 8pin connector if i can, will see what happens.

Does anyone actually sell these, cant find em anywhere ( realise you cant post competitors here , just wondered if they exist )

Has anyone managed to get 6pin to 8pin converter/cable from Corsair for a HX620?

Have you tried this?

To avoid UK customers having to pay shipping costs from the US for 6+2-pin PCI-E cables, we have set up a new procedure.

If you live in the UK and require 6+2-pin PCI-E cables for your HX-series modular PSU, please contact Corsair Customer Service Group. You will need to include a digital copy of your invoice attached to the email as proof of purchase along with your shipping address. Your cable will then be posted to you free of charge.

I queried this with Corsair ages ago as my 620 came with the old 6-pin connectors. They said they'd send me the parts for the cost of shipping from the US but I couldn't be bothered and never got back to them.

Lo and behold, a few months later I get a package from Corsair in the US containing a pair of replacement cables with the full 8-pin connectors on them!

My HX620 came with the 8 pin cables I just taken that from the Corsair support section on a different forum. :)

anyone heard back from Corsair ? , i raised a support request and then filled in the form mentioned above a couple of days later

havent heard anything at all, not even a confirmation email, despite buying the PSU within the last 12 months

Not at all impressed to be honest ..
