52-plate Ibiza 1.4, fully-specced, 15k on the clock (fully backed up with service stamps et cetera), Metallic paint, alloys, every option ticked.

2995.

Including full tank of petrol, new mats (z0mg!) and in rather minty condition other than a 'parking rub' on the OSR bumper which will disappear with an hour or so's work.

I guess its a good price. Sounds a lot like automotive hell, though.

Every option ticked? In an Ibiza? What so it has floormats and a CD player? :p

It's for my sister :p

She's 26, a teacher and very rarely goes on a motorway. The closest it would get would be the A1 from Newcastle to Berwick (less than half of which is dualled).

They're about 70bhp iirc. DEMONFAST! ;) Ut if it's the same lump as Polos got, it should be good enough.

There will be slow people. Some will bring Caravans. She needs more power.
Put it this way:

She was happy that her last car had five gears. She's over the moon that this one has PAS.

Worse than that, it's full of tractors.

Unfortunatley, on that bit of road, you'd rarely get the chance to use extra power. As soon as you get north of Morpeth you just plod along behind stuff, admiring the shiney new signs telling you how many people have been killed in the last three years.

In the summer it's a mare.

Generally, considering it's the main road between London and Edinburgh, the A1 north of Leeds is a total disgrace.

What makes it worse is that as soon as you get north of the border, it turns into pristine wide, flat, sweeping dual carriageway kept in perfect condition.

With shed loads of speed cameras though......

The fleeting section of DC round Anlwick is usually such a blur as it's the only chance you have to make good progress.

I remember one of the first issues of top gear mag had a letter from a Berwick lad explaining the art of 'gatso blasting'; passing the tonne between cameras then crawling past them.

I always treat the drive to Berwick as a chance to stick some music on and relax; you're not going to be fast so just go with the flow.

That said, I've been involved in several sub-one-hour runs...including one of 40 minutes from Scremerston to Kingston Park.

I'm usually only going as far as Lesbury or Beadnell, if I want to go to Scotland I go the Coldsteam way. There are just as many caneras now, but I just think it's a niceer journey.
