What do you think of the VW Corrado?

ignore fox btw he has HUA syndrome .

Whats your problem? I've been polite and on-topic - the question posed in this thread was 'Would you buy a Corrado, or a newer car'. I even said I could admire them even though I'd not buy one!

All I've done is answer that question. Why did that deserve this insulting response?

i have a vr6 :)great car BUT you must look for one which has had the timing chains done and proof for the job, if its got high milage take it for a good test and have a mate look out for blue smoke on run down, not a good sign :(.

it means the bores on cylinder 1 and 6 have worn and oil is getting through, the only solution is rebuild, and when i say give it a good test i mean GOOD test :o i didnt and i bought a lemon :(.

i have to clean my plugs every month now as the oil builds up and it idles very poorly and cuts out.

check the spoiler goes up at 45mph, and down at 10mph, also check the sunroof both tilts and slides, as its a mare of a job to sort.

the light switch is also prone to fail, as are the heater controls, lukly mine all work fine(touch wood).

the abs light on the dash should come on for about 10s then go out, if you push the brake pedal before turning the ignition on you'll feel the pedal vibrate meaning its all ok, if not somethings wrong.

the early models are odb1's which are dizzy engines, the later one are odb2's which are coilpacks.

i tested 2 out when i bought mine, one had heated leater, and the one i bought has cloth seats which i found much nicer to be in.

the sound is amazing when on full chat, even with just a drilled airbox, im going to be looking at fitting the r32 mk4 gold lump when mine finaly gives up just gota save the pennies :D.

this is mine

or even better a nice 1.9Tdi :)

almost every thread you reply with the same thing  unless its a bmw dont buy it, tbh it gets boring, and the main reason i hardly read this section.

yes corrados are old, but there also great fun, any car can give you problems its just the luck of the draw, and you wont know till you get one.

instead of just saying i wouldnt even consider a corrado, explain why.

I like the corrado, wanted to get a VR6 a couple of years back, even went for a few test drives. I will buy one before the price gets too high.

I'd really like a Storm in Blue...........Mmmm tasty :)

Your loss then, thats a load of crap, I rarely recommend BMW's to anyone and I heap praise on all sorts.

What ruins this section is people like yourself who've got some stupid idea in their head backed up by nothing at all that they wont let go off, then they make stupid posts based on their illfounded premise.

Had you bothered to read the thread you'd have seen my second post where I explained why

Still, you've managed to turn a thread about Corrado's into a fight, so well done

Becuase it doesn't interest me, I can admire but would never buy that sort of car :)

I don't really want to own a car thats more than 8-10 years old - and I'd rather not BUY a car thats more than 5 or so as its much, much harder to find an unmolested exceptional condition one owner from new car.

The whole idea that theres a BMW clique on this forum is getting tiring.

Give it a rest.

ofcourse there isnt

my loss, not realy, i frequent plenty of forums which are much better to read than the motors section on here.

on topic, visit http://the-corrado.net/forum/index.php

for a better look into rado owner ship. also check out the knowlegde base section as it has probably all the info in one bit :) plus a few guides.

id definatly recomend testing a few :).

Really, there isn't. The voice of those like yourself is far, far louder than any on here who only recommend BMW's. I can't think of a single poster who only recommends that particular marque. Curiously though I can think of a couple who only ever mention other makes... Sure, there are quite a few owners on here, bust most if not all are open minded enough to discuss and recommend cars from all different marques.

But hey, you cant let fact get in the way of starting a hypocritical arguement :)

I do like these I always wanted one however as Fox says its very difficult to find a mint unmolested VR6 Storm with low miles and the odd one that comes up is going for serious money at around 7-10k. Thats a lot of money for a 13 year old car and could get you a tidy LCR.

ofcourse there isnt

That people talk about BMW's a lot on here automatically means we must all worship BMW's and drive them? - Give it a rest! :p

Theres a simple solution to your problem, any "clique" members that you spot, put them on your ignore list!

Feel free to try it with me!

I really like these, would have one now if I could have afforded one in a decent condition. They look really really smart when kitted up nicely, R32 lump would be an awesome swap :D sound from my mates V6 Mk4 4motion Golf is awesome, nothing like it really.

OT: I've been away from these forums for quite some time (about a year), and it hasn't changed a tiny bit, where people like Fox and Jez (2 that coem to mind) can't make comments without things being thrown back in their face. Shame really. Hey to everyone again on the forums tho :)

Cheers

Fox & Jez are still here mate.
Hey back to you sir. :)

Cracking chassis, one of the best engines of our time in the wobbly six, handsome looks...A definite classic and the prices are showing that.

I'd love one.
