Semi-Pro (Return of the Will Ferrell)

Having seen some of the trailers and commercials of his new movie 'Semi-Pro' looks like it is going to be an absolute classic!

Jackie Moon has a Ron Burgundy type feel to him which in my books is perfect! Anchorman is THE best comedy movie.....ever (imo)! So hopefully this will come pretty close

I may now have to request a name change, and to think only the other day I said I quite liked this name.

Will Ferrell is easily in the top five least funny men on celluloid, any film that is entertaining with him in it is in spite of his best efforts, not because of them. Annoying as a very good mate of mine reckons he is the funniest man alive so he will no doubt also be awaiting this with baited breath.

Some of his films are absolute **** but when he's on the ball he's funny as.

anchorman is awesome but in real life without a funny script hes just not funny.

The 'return' of Will Ferrell, when did he **** off?

I've certainly not noticed an acceptable absence of Will Ferrell any time in the recent past. Shame as I did have a good run at one point of 18-19 years without the annoying **** in my life.

Since this isn't the Will Ferrell arse kissing thread I'd say it's ok to call him a ****.

He's just not especially funny, not in large doses anyway. He can't carry a film that's for sure.

No we do like comedy, just good comedy, with people who are genuinely funny. And stuff.

He is pure slapstick and relies on heavy directing and a solid script to be anything approaching funny... if left to his own devices or given a weak script he is pure cack. A gifter improvisor he is not.

see him in interviews that are live.totally different man to his films.the one i watched not long ago he was making jokes and not one member of audience laughed.a bit like ricky gervais.hes a legend in his own mind.

He used to be pretty top notch, Old School, Anchorman and his role in Wedding Crashers were all fantastic. Then he started making 'mainstream' hollywood 'Will Ferrel' films, which have been pure dross.

Talladega Nights was pants, i dont think i laughed once.
Blades Of Glory wasnt that good, but had a few funny moments and now
Semi-Pro just looks the same as above. I will see it, but i dont expect it to be nearly to the standard of Anchorman.

His films are all the same, and not just because there all crap either

He really isn't funny*

* Other than in Anchorman, that is the only exception to the rule, and even then it was only really funny cause of Brick
