Metal with people who can sing or no vocals at all

Do you mean screaming, or growling? I don't mind a bit of screaming (:eek) but growling does my nut in!

And why hasn't Docaroo been in this thread yet? :D

Forgot to mention Testament(first four albums) Dark Angel(Time does not heal album, VERY technical and mighty heavy with the awesome Gene Hoglan on drums)

Also i cant go through a metal thread without mentioning my fave band, Strapping Young Lad, again with Hoglan on drums, it's grandiose, pompous HEAVY metal.....but some of the screaming might put you off:D

Sometimes I wish Dethklok was a real band. No not sometimes... all the time.

The albums poorly done :(

Actually... anything like Dethklok? Crushing My Battle Opponents Balls is awesome.

Metal isnt Metal without screaming vocals :p

I've tryed listening to stuff like Exit10 and It sounds so wrong.

LOL, why have people suggested In Flames, just about as screamy as you can get

Ah I know, 'Sanctity', modern metal with a classic touch, I think they're pretty good.

That's one song on Come Clarity.

They've become more "mainstream" since Re-Route to Remain. Not that that's a bad thing, they're still damn good imo.

RSH - Exit Ten are moderately screamy sometimes, they just don't go all out screaming like the aforementioned In Flames. I think Ryan's a pretty good singer :)

Also, Tobes, i recommend Decapitated's latest album Organic Hallucinosis, the singing on that one's not too bad, and the late, great Vitek's drumming is just awesome! :D

For an instrumental album, you might want to check out The Machinations Of Dementia by Blotted Science. Sort of like Liquid Tension Experiment, but heavier, more edgy and somewhat darker (I would say); the type of music that begs for the volume to be turned up. :D

Also for female vocals, check out Aghora. Check both their albums Aghora and Formless.

Quick check of formless and it's got a few tracks that make me think of Ozric Tentacles (and a bit Red Snapper too). Although there's something about her voice that makes me think she's singing flat or something..

Her voice isn't the most dynamic but it works with the music. A similiar statement can be said about the singer on the debut album (who is a different singer to the one on Formless), but again, it fits the atmoshere and vibe of the album though I do admit it does sound a little 'off' at first. Both albums share that same "Eastern" influence, but they're very different otherwise, though both are great metal albums and something a little different to the usual Nightwish style, female fronted bands out there.

If you want some awesome female vocals, checkout Atrox. Get the albums Orgasm and Contentum (the first is much easier to get into though). The vocalist is so unique and talented, really has to be heard in the context of the music to be appreciated; her ability to evoke so many different emotions at once is something to behold. I love both these albums to bits and would recommend them to anyone, anyday, regardless of taste.

While I'm at it I'll mention a few more metal/rock bands which I love, with female singers:

Madder Mortem
After Forever
Naamah
The Gathering
Diablo Swing Orchestra
Made Out Of Babies
Battle Of Mice

(BTW, are you talking about the electronica/trip-hop 'Red Snapper' or someone else? Because, Aghora sound nothing like them, lol. Red Snapper are great though. :D)

Some of these aren't what some people would call metal but you could always try out:

Soil, Disturbed, some Cold, there's Silent Civilian (Johnny Santos from Spineshanks new band) which might be too 'screamy' for you but I'd say he more barks the verses out and nearly all the chorus are sung, plenty of decent guitar work on it too.
