This is true. The other suggestions are sensible. Rubbing the cat's nose in it will achieve nothing. The cat has no idea why you're doing it.

Calm down deary, it was a joke.

Everyone knows that when you rub a cats nose where it has been to the toilet it will do it again in the same place.

cruel my ass , would have been much crueler if we took it back/shot it out/got rid of it

Seriously the amount of replies I've seen about hurting cats is quite honestly sick. Ok if you don't like cats, then don't post.

Good suggestions here really though about stopping him doing it on the dogs bed, can't come up with any myself.

As others have said just keep showing it the litter tray and it'll suss it out eventually.
If it keeps No Swearing! all over the place its probably due to some other problem. Ours used to do it - turned out they were getting uppity because some tom kept coming in the house when we were out and slapping them about. Probably just marking their territory.
It bloomin' stinks tho :mad:
