Once the e39 is sold, I want to replace the e30 with something quicker..

The problem is I have no idea what to get...

The spec:
< 2.0l engine (for insurance and road tax reasons - Ireland sucks)
£2-5k budget (obviously the less the better)
Can't be a convertible (insurance reasons)
Ideally not an import (nightmare for insurance)
RWD prefered
Unmodified (or v. minimal mods)

Apart from this, I don't need any practicality. I don't care about MPG.

The shortlist at the moment is:
Nissan 200SX
Toyota MR2 Turbo (Rev 3)

Any more suggestions?!
 
Because they are all 4000 years old and they are mega insurance for the type of people who only want to spend a few grand on a car :) Hence no real market for them.
 
Tempted by an MR2 MK2 rev 3-5 here too :)

Hopefully might be getting a payment which could enable me to pay off my oustanding finance on the current car, sell it on and come out of it with something faster & change, MR 2 Turbo and Integra are coming in high priority atm! Integra due to 4 seats what with the Gf having an MGF so handy to have 1 2+ car, and Integras are SO appealing, same with the MR2 just appealing as hell right now, only problem is people saying they are pretty demanding about the way you drive them, i'm a good, safe driver and have no "incidents" with the MGF, although I know its in a TOTAL different league!

Jez, you're one of the MR2 experts, inform meee! :D

Prices always dropping :( When I got mine it was worth about 5k but now adays maybe 3k? Not really checked what they are going for since I got mine. :p
 
Mike - what year is yours?

Evos and scooby's are out due to insurance :( They were my first thought.

The only Rev 3 Black MR2s I can find are £4k+ :(
 
The age of my car is a secret. ;)

Its a 94 Rev3.

Thing is though it goes against a lot you said in the first post. imported and out of price bracket.

The import thing is actually fine - thought it was going to be a problem but it isnt :)

A 94 Rev3 is exactly what I want. A stock one, in black if possible. Oh and a Unicorn all the colours of the rainbow...
