Open office or ms office which u prefer. Is there any thing u couldn't do without if u had to use the other? o.o is free why give mr gates more money any reason

I'd stay with Office. I'm used to it and the interface, although that has changed for Office 2007.

OO is pretty good for free and I did use it for making PDFs but Office 2007 can do that thanks to a plugin.

Can't really think of anything I couldn't do without really. :)

But mr gates wonts money for 2007.Is it worth the money. I have a friend who has vista i just dont know if its worth buying 2007 for it.

I prefer Microsoft Office as there's a lot of useful features, feels professional and is pretty much the industry standard.

You can also Save / Print to PDF with a FREE plugin from the Microsoft Website.

I'd personally say it was worth the money but as I get it free from work I would say that. It really depends if you do everything there regularly. I do a lot of Word documents, have several Microsoft Databases and Excel spreadsheets that I update daily so to me it is very essential.

Your friend should download OpenOffice and give it a try, if he or she hasn't already. I think you can get a 30 day trial of Office 2007 so that could also be something to do. http://us1.trymicrosoftoffice.com/default.aspx

Get your friend to try out both and see which they prefer. Are they a student? If so there is an Office 2007 offer on for £38.95. This is how I got Office 2007. I think for £40 Office 2007 is definitely better than OO. :)

I'm sorry, but Office 2007 is THE best office productivity avaliable. Now whether it's worth you paying the money for it is upto you, but personally, I would never switch to anything else as current.

In all fairness, it is over £600 worth of software for £40 so having three licences would be a bit OTT. It is the Ultimate version BTW.
