Got users at work who use Cosair pen drives for data moving, very nice they are too.

One issue though, they tend to leave the tops of the pendrives on desks and walk away, this leads in turn to them getting bent, dusty, broken ect..

Anyone got any ideas how to replace the top rubber bit of a pen drive? Or any places that sell that item as a spare?

I have one of these, bought it for the Mrs. Aren't they called 'crusader' or something? Mine is missing its top too.

I lost my top for weeks then found it in the foot-well of my car the other day by accident, glad it's not just me who had problems :D.

The Kingston ones we get come with a small piece of string that you can feed through to add it to your key ring, why can't it feed through a hole on the cap too :/

I guess if it breaks... you buy another :(

I lost the top of mine about 5 minutes after i got it. A few bashes and bends, dents and dinks later it stlil works like a champ. Don't worry about it.

I got a spare top if you still needs one (If I've not already thrown it in the bin) - my pen drive died on me. I'm happy to find out that most people find them reliable as theres quite a few off us that had then at work and we had a few issues with them... and we been refloating chips on them...

I've lost one for a Toshiba pen drive. Really annoying as I know it's only a matter of time before it dies (it's one that travels around as opposed to just sit in a drawer).

The USB plug kept breaking on mine (I stupidly had my keys attached to it so it was always being stressed when plugged in), despite re-soldering it several times it never seemed to work properly.

you wont say that when the usb header falls off the circuit board, and mine was always inside the rubber top!

<shrug> it's lasted a year now. I think it's been through a wash or 2 as well. It's been trod on, dropped, chewed. But I don't have it on a key ring, just on it's own. I usually drop it in my pocket with loose change.

Mines also been through a 60 degree wash and still works fine. That was without the cap on. The Flash Voyagers are very resilient!
