Just seen the new Rambo film

People forget that Rambo: First Blood was a serious film, well acted and with a powerful message about forgotten vietnam veterans. The rest of the films muddied the waters heavily and it degenerated into a hideous explosion-fest.

Don't get your hopes up. First Blood is a really REALLY good film, but the others aren't even close to being in the same league (I haven't seen 4 yet). An interesting fact though, after First Blood was made, Stallone hated it so much that he tried to buy it back and destroy it. As that plan fell through, he begged and pleaded with the producers to cut large chunks of the film out, which they did. And that was one of the main reasons for the shorter, more punchy action films we have today.

Saw Rambo a few weeks ago and thought it was pretty good...glad to see Rambo back in action...its been a long time and hes back in more ways than one.

Awesome movie, another where you switch your brains off and enjoy the copious amounts of killing...

Might be another Rambo in the making, Stallone was on Jonathon Ross Friday night and said as far as hes concerned Rocky is dead but Rambo might have another one on the way....if so i cant wait...wonder if it will be against Al Qaeda??.

My favourite film, i'm getting all the old Rambos to have a big Rambo session day where I watch them all

So you are watching it with poor quality faked 5.1 sound. The sound in my local cinema really added to the film.
