Right, have been in the queue to customer support for 20 minutes now and getting ticked off. Did try searching last night with no luck as the site seems to just send you in a loop.

Anyone managed it?

No, I originally paid for one month but then without asking it was a subscription of £4.99 every month, and up till now just haven't been bothered to cancel it, tried online and through XBL once or twice but couldn't find anything. However, moving out by myself next month so every penny counts.

Got it sorted over the phone eventually but personally think its ridiculous you can't cancel through Xbox live or on the web.

Just phone them and say you have sold the console, saves any blags the person on the line will pull. Nightmare cancelling anything these days.

i rung up yesterday trying to cancel the card off my account

the person on the other end wants £40 to take the card off so i can use pre paid codes, or if i dont want to pay the £40 itll cancel my full account, i was then cut off :mad:

I recently called to get my card removed.

I called the helpdesk on Thursday, told them I wasn't happy the card was linked to my account without an easy way to remove it, so stated that I wanted them to do it for me now.
The lady on the phone said it had to be escalated and I was given a reference number and promised a call back after 17:00 - at my request.

Got a call the next day (quite a long time past 17:00 I'd say) just to confirm it had been removed, although the 'supervisor' asked me if I could call on the 1st of May (when live expires) to confirm it didn't re-bill.

I haven't used live for ages now, so I'm not sure if I'll resubscribe any time soon.

Scort.

So you want to stop paying so give them more money for the privilege?

why not?, Live is great - well thats what everyone says, lol

J/K - of course if your going to not continue using LIVE then i wouldn't suggest that method but abit of forward planning and a cheap 3month pre-paid card that'll stop the automatic CC billing could make things easier.

I am sorry you are wrong there. It is against the Banking code. You have the right to apply to the Bank Ombudsman and get all payments refunded. Just make sure you have kept a record of all the phone calls and letters you have sent them regading this issue. E-Mails count as Lgal mail as well now because your signature is your IP.
MS used this quite recently in trying to recover money from a company that owed them money so I don't see why it should not work against them. If you change your CC and transfer the Balance over to a new card and close the account they have got no one to bill have they. That is the easiest way out of the jungle of looping bills from BILL gates.
Remember to be polite and cordial on the phone to these account managers on the phone because it can speed up things immensly. And keep a record of who you speak to and the details you discuss. It also aids in the fact that you should have all the details at hand on what was said to whom and what was promised on that date and so on and so on. This way the courts can decide if you have made a reasonable effort at bringing a resolution to the issue. And they can't charge you while an issue has been escalated to a higher level. Especially if it concerns billing and fraud on their part.
