Help me pick a watch

Because if it was for me I would have taken the first one however it’s a gift so other people’s opinions would be useful.

But we only know you as a name on an internet forum, so even picking a watch for you would be difficult enough, how are we supposed to have a clue as to what your brother would like? For all we know he could be a camper than christmas, makeup wearing gayer that has a penchant for all things covered in diamante.
Maybe you should engage him in a bit of discrete conversation regarding watches and see if you could get an idea from him.

very nice but it would be too big on him.

The panerai luminor marina is available as a 40mm diameter version so is actually smaller than both the Seamaster 300m and the Speedmaster ;)

I have skinny 6in wrists and I have tried the Panerai on and it is the only model that doesn't look hideously huge on me.

Peoples taste in watches vary hugely. I'd never ever buy anyone a watch without asking them about it first.

Ask him which he prefers and do that, don't get what _you_ like, get what _he_ likes.

I know a jeweller with a BNIB Panerai 232 in the window, tried it on on Saturday , was surprised as used ones are going for over list at some places , but at 47mm prob too big for him

How about a SeaDweller or the new Milgauss ?

I consider this to be a nice elegant watch, and it is definitely on my wish list for this year. Better value than the Rolex and superior calibre than the Rolex.

re that Calibre that is subjective really after all it is only a modified 7750 in that one , I am a big fan of Panerai but white faced models do not hold value as well as the black/tobacco ones

When I get my house finally repaired from the floods of last June and leave this caravan, I will then look to get my Panerai 00049, when I buy it, it will stay with me for life, a definite KEEPER, a grail watch in WIS speak.

I has asked Rod if he has any Subs (date or non date), SD or exp2 in stock.

The Milgauss would have been nice but I cant seem to get hold of one without paying crazy money. My AD has put me on the list but thinks it will take a year to get me one with the green class.

The 232 is going to be way to big. He is about the same size as me.

Milgauss seems to change hands at about 3500 on the boards, there have been plenty about, black is more popular than white, the GV version is near unobtainable

if your dealer is quoting you a year for the GV then I would get your name down, supply is very scarce

yep I have my name down. I did not want to go much over 2.5k for his watch and even that is pushing it so the milgauss is out.

I like the speedmaster, I guess those Olympic rings on it are the limited edition part?

Only thing is it could get dated quickly, as the Olympics only happen every 4 years
