Earlier tonight my ex came and collected her cats. Out of the three, two belonged to her and the third was ours. I told her to take ours too as it would not be fair to split them up... :(

We split up in October of last year and carried on living together as some of you know from my previous posts. We got along better and still have a great, if not fantastic relationship. We have both moved on. She has got a new fella who I met tonight (she bought him along to help with the cats) he seemed a nice bloke and we had a chat. I can see us all getting on well in the future.

Next week she will be coming back to collect her remaining belongings.

The house feels so empty. I had tea a bit ago and no cats begging for food. No cats getting under my feet when im in the kitchen. No cats full stop. They have been apart of my life for over 4 years and its heartbreaking seeing them go. I put on a brave face as my ex drove off with them. She later texted me saying she felt bad for taking them. We all had a bond. Life goes on.

I have a new house mate moving in next week and I think he is wanting to get a dog. I too am wanting to get a new pet. Im looking at a cat. Not sure what one just yet but I will be getting one. Hopefuly my house mate intends to get a puppy, if so I will get a kitten. That way they can grow up together. For how long is anyones guess.

So for now all I have are some pictures of the three Musketeers.

:( Will be missed very very much..

Yeah they are the best.. I had a special bond with Poppy. Mima was the youngest. At a guess she is now 4 years old. Garfield has just turned 15 years old. poppy is probably around 9 maybe 10. Mima was always trying to play with them. Poppy wouldnt have anything of it whereas Garfield tollerated her and had a play on his terms, he is old...:p

aww cats are the best pets.. i love my cats :D

chin up, get your flatmate to get a tiny puppy and get yourself a lil kitten, that will be quality seeing them grow up together

Oh that's horrible :(. I can't imagine how I'd feel if I had to give my cats away, they really do make a huge difference being around all the time. <big hugs>

i sort of know the feeling, moved into my own place (well..with the missus) a few months back now and when i lived at my parents there were always 2 cats wandering about, one always wanting attention, the other causing mischief, got a rat now but its just not the same, really really want a cat again :(

Go get yourself a new pussy.

We had to rehome our cat recently, sad but was for the best. And when I moved a few years ago, left my old cat (R.I.P) behind, wasn't fair to move him.

Really nice cats. I remember my house feeling really empty and lonely when I lost my cat a couple of years ago. You don't realise just how much a part of your life they become.

Garfield looks just like my cat Sandy.

Plenty of rescue cats need homes, turn this unfortunate situation into a happy one for some rescue cat.

Hang in there mate
