My uncle left me this Amp after he emigrated to New Zealand, he said it good but old. What do guys think, should I keep this and add some nice speakers to it or should I sell it and put the money towards a new home cinema package (Amp, DVD and Speakers)??

If it helps I'd be hooking it upto a Sony 40” 1080p LCD and a Denon DVD-1930 upscaling DVD player.

Thanks in advance.

Denon make some great AV amps but they still wouldn't fetch loads on the second hand market so it would end up costing a fair bit to get something of similar quality new.

Thanks people, looks like I’ll be keeping the monster then :) Just been having a look at some speakers, would some Mordaunt Short 302 Avant’s give me a good sound, I'm not looking to spend too much.

.

I have its bigger brother the 3802, and it's fab. I wouldn't even consider upgrading until I had the need for muliple HDMI ports.

Once AudioT return my email, I'll be the proud owner of a 3808 :D and my 2805 will be for sale.

I knew going to the sound and vision show on Sunday was a bad idea! :D

I've got a set of 302s hooked up to a CA 540R and for the money/size i think the sound is very good.
These are going as my surrounds once i have space to hook up my new 916i's :)
