I remember when crysis first came out, Having two nvidia cards in SLI did not scale very well...

Has there been any improvement with crysis & SLI setups with the lastest drivers/patches ???

Personal Experiance, with 2 8800GTXs,

the answer is simply NO :(

with 2 cards you will probably pull no more than 5 extra frames in crysis lol

Thanks for this reply...:)

I tryed searching on yahoo/google but i couldn't find any review tests of SLI with crysis :(

i get identical fps in crysis with either 1 of my g92 gts's, or both in sli... so, as above really :(

I want see some SLI tests done under DX10 (vista)
as i didn't spend loads on highend dx10 card/s to play the latest dx10 games set to dx9

(Sorry...I should have put tests with windows vista in the first post...)

Ok, so its not identical, but please, 1fps...

Crysis is not CPU dependant

Oh yes it is.
But it only uses 2 cores.
Those claiming it doesn't scale with SLI and Crossfire simply do not have enough CPU power to keep the graphic cards fed.

CPU dependant? Only uses around 60-70% of my CPU and if you look at the massive crysis benchmark thread you'll see people with dual cores overtaking quads and higher clocked dual cores..

Weird... I see dual cores at the top......

If you want to benefit from SLI with Crysis you need CPU power.
Quads aren't much use though as the clock speeds are generally lower and Crysis only uses 2 cores properly.

With my old dual running at 3500 Ghz i scored 46FPS with one GTX and 61FPS with 2.
Swapping out the CPU for a Wolfdale saw the SLI score rise to around 70FPS.
Clearly CPU clock speed is important.

Not to forget clock for clock a penryn is 15% faster, but its not as CPU dependant as you think, go take a look at the benchmarks again, 3.4Ghz and an 8800GT and I'm scoring 46fps, and my CPU is 100Mhz slower.

Thats no surprise they have higher clock speeds and Crysis does not use more than 2 cores.
Clearly you didn't read my previous post properly even though i posted the relevant info in bold.

You don't need that much CPU power to max out one card.
It's when you have 2 that CPU power becomes more critical.

Clearly getting 46FPS is easy on GT's GTX's etc with any half decent CPU.
Try running SLI with 2 cards.

I did some SLI tests with my 8600GTS cards in SLI. Ok, not high end but enough to give an indication that SLI works.

I ran the OcUK benchmark that was in the Crysis DX9 thread and got nthe follwing :

Single card : 12FPS
SLI : 23FPS

Id say SLI deffo works, but remember the demo dosent support SLI if youre using that for the benchmark

Care to enlighten us with what setting you are runing?

I too have just run a quick crysis benchie. I took the lazy mans approach and selected single gpu mode in the crysis nvidia profile. Interestingly AFR2 with tweaks is very very slightly faster than AFR3.

2560x1600 HIGH /w natural mod enabled.

Single GPU: 12fps
SLi: 22fps

SLi is clearly working, and quite well.
