Forget the Earthquake, who woke up just before it hit?

The strangest thing for me last night wasn’t the earthquake it was how everyone seem to wake up just before it hit. We have all been swapping theories this morning. The best one so far is everything went quite and still before it hit and we must have picked up on that.
Anyone else do the same either this time or last one?

Earthquake? Are you sure it wasn't just your PhysX card rendering it? I didn't experience an Earthquake. :( :)

That's one good thing about living in Bridgwater, it wasn't built on a fault line.

” PhysX card rendering it? I didn't experience an Earthquake.”
See that’s what happens when you don’t buy a PhysX card. You miss out on great special physics effects which add to atmosphere ;) For added effect buy a rumble device to go with the PhysX card.

when there was that earthquake (tremor) in folkestone/dover last year i woke up just before the rumble and the shaking.. and the same when that bunsfield place blew up.. i was in aldershot and i woke up and then suddenly BOOOM!.. very strange? sixth sense?

No but I woke up to a weird dream this morning. I dreamt I owned a pub and that was being shall we say stolen off me by a huge guy demanding the deeds to the pub at the bar. We went outside for a fight... "ROUND 1..." but instead of the ding ding of a match bell it was the DEE DEE DEE DEE of my alarm clock.

Saved by the bell :)

I woke up to a jolt, but don't know what happened before...

I suspect that people were woken up by the first tremor, which could have been a second or two before the next one.

I was asleep but I woke up about 5-10 seconds before the earthquake started - could've been an initial tremor as mentioned. Although I was confused by it as I was sleepy, I thought it was just my housemate falling down the stairs! (albeit a lot of stairs)

i thought it was only me who woke up just before it

at 12:58 i woke up and looked at the digital clock, then a minute later it happened

ive got some sound activated neons near the pc which lit up during the earthquake, looked cool

it was initially a bit scary but i knew it was an earthquake due to the 2002 experience :p

spooky

p.s. after checking everyone was ok, i naturally posted on ocuk ;)

Maybe because the animals (cats, foxes, birds, etc) got wind of it, and we noticed the lack of our bins being turned over for food :D

I know you're kind of joking, but what woke me up was all the seagulls going mad, We have a huge derelict house near us and they all roost in there. Last night they were flying all around the place making enough noise to wake the dead!

it lasted 10 seconds, a big move [which probably woke people up], died down, then a HUGE move [which everyone probably mistook as being the whole earthquake].

I was awake and didn't notice a thing. Had headphones on and was watching a TV show though...

but I was in the '89 Loma Prieta quake and don't remember feeling anything at the time either....I was only 5 years old, probably running around so I didn't notice.

Would have been quality if it'd happened while you were slipping the missus a portion..

"OOOh the earth moved - you're my hero!" :D
