if tehy all play, then i will say hold out for a bit longer and see what the future brings in terms of hardware and price, or jsutify your upgrade by gaming at a higher res

If you have £280 burning a hole in your pocket buy urself a nice 22" monitor (or even 24") it will still look great with a GTX

Here, here!. My resolution goes up to 2048x1536 and things look so much better when ran at a bigger resolution. Playing even at 24" 1920x1440 your GTX might struggle with a few titles and that would make the X2 a bit more tempting then but for the difference I don't think it's worth it. I might be changing to the X2 soon myself but this is because an old game I play online (Call of Duty1) lags in close battles and in other parts too and my 2900Pro runs it fine. All other games are fine, it's just this one title and I'm competitive.

Stick with your GTX and get a bigger screen as the X2 would be wasted at 1280x1024. That resolution would bottleneck a GTX, never mind an X2. Renegade you might not feel it with your CPU at 4Ghz. Try and remember that in future ;).
