Thats a good recommendation, depends how much you want to spend though and how useful it'll be, SDSL isn't a substitute for 10Mbit.

NTL might be worth a try, Neos have also been very reasonable in the south west - though they're more a wholesale carrier in some ways.

NTL don't have any circuits in this area so the cost was outrageous, even the salesman at NTL so it was stupidly high

SDSL isn't available in this area, or at least it wasn't about 6 months ago

Is the area fairly rural? If so you're going to get stung by anyone for the last mile fibre unfortunately (probably the carrier wil use a BT WES circuit as a tail if thats the case - not a bad thing as it's dedicated fibre and support on them is good but it will likely be expensive.

Not that rural, only about a mile from J26 of the M5 on a business park

Well that might help, I'd think BT would have some fibre about if it's a business park so it mgith push the cost down. All you can do is speak to a few providers though, just be prepared for bit of a wait, it takes a while to get prices together for locations outside of central london.
