crossfire x is allready out...

Waste of money those PhysX cards tbh.

PhysX cards are still a waste of money - Nvidia also have recently announced they are putting them into their future cards!

Same as above, PhysX were recently bought out by nVidia. It's not worth getting a physics card, especially considering that we don't fully yet know where nVidia are going with them. I doubt nVidia themselves will be supporting physX cards, though I'm most probably wrong :D.

Dont see why they will support PhysX cards, most likely discontinue them as they in the graphics cards now.

That is the question, and the answer is an emphatic NO, the PhysX cards are no more now that Nvidia bought them, they'll be adding them into their GPU's so you won't need an extra card, well that will be when they can be arsed to release something new, as they aint done that for nearly 2 years. :D

As you have ATI and crossfire I would say perhaps yes if you can get one cheap but only if you have a number of PPU games.

In the few games it works in, it works well. The problem is lack of game support. If you’re into coding and playing around with demos there are tons of fun tech demos and a SDK kit to play with. It’s also pretty useful in some CAD type programs for liquids and other bits.

Look at your game list as chances are you don’t even own any or enough PPU games to make it worth while to buy one. The PPU is a PCI slot.

They might want to take a bigger market share and have an option for ATI user’s.

I grabbed one the other day as it was dirt cheap and i'm on ATi, I got it mainly for UT3 as I play it a lot.

Even on the non-physX maps it speeds up normal gameplay by a good margin.

I could easily live without it, it isn't like UT3 is slow without it in there, same goes for GRAW and GRAW2.

With a bit of luck now that nVidia own Ageia and are starting to support PhysX via CUDA we might get a few more big name games using PhysX acceleration.
