I'm now getting a bit excited over the 360 lineup for 2008

After initially being rather underwhelmed by the lineup for 2008 for my beloved 360, I've now realised that there are some rather good games still to come.

I intend on getting all of these 7 games or so when they come out.

Rainbow Six Vegas 2
Unreal Tournament 3
Grand Theft Auto 4
Fable 2
Toca Race Driver: The Grid (assuming it see's a 2008 release)
Star Wars: Force Unleashed
Battlefield Bad Company (assuming it see's a 2008 release)

There are bound to be others that crop up as well, but I can't really afford more than about 8 games over the year, unless:-

* I get a massive pay-rise
* Win the lottery
* Rob a bank
* Lose my parents who leave me pots of cash!

(OK, I'd rather not rob bank to get money! ;))

Only two out of your list that I am interested in are GTA4 (which I *might* get for the 360, due to extra content, assuming I can muster some earmuffs to dull out the DVD drive noise from my console) and Unreal Tournament 3 (which I am going to be getting within the month for my PS3).

My 2008 list includes:

GTA4 (X360)
UT3 (PS3)
Pro Evolution Soccer 2009 (only if they can get it back up to par again [PS3]. However, if not Fifa 2009 here I come! [probably X360])
Killzone 2 (PS3)
MGS4 (PS3)
Wipeout HD (PS3)
Resident Evil 5 (whatever version is best)
Gears of War 2 (X360)
Tiger Woods 2009 (This game had better sort itself out and make up for the sham that was TW 08', [X360])
Alone in the Dark (whatever version is best, looking like X360 at this point)
Guitar Hero 4: solus [or whatever the version is called] (X360)
Resistance 2 (PS3)

Possibly Little Big Planet (PS3)
Possibly GT5:Prologue (PS3)
Posibly Motorstorm 2 (PS3)

Whappers.

Nowhere near as many as last year to be honest... I cant remember the last time I bought a new game! :o It must have been assassins creed at christmas!

Im looking forward to:

the lost game
gears of war 2
fable 2
unreal tournament 3 (possibly)
battlefield bad company (again possibly)
star wars: the force unleashed

Theres only 4 games that I want this year.

Banjo Kazooie 3
GTA 4
Resident evil 5
Tomb Raider Underworld

Don't think theres anything else i'm even slightly interested in.

Hopefully this is my 360 lineup.

Street Fighter IV
Grand theft auto 4
Viking
Golden Axe

considering prototype as well and dark sector but depends on reviews tbh.

Bah, there's a lot of games I'll definately be getting:

Lost Odyssey
GTA IV
Fable 2
Too Human
Fallout 3
Banjo Kazooie
Golden Axe
Splinter Cell: Conviction
Soul Calibre IV
Rock Band
Gears of War 2

Some jrpgs (well, they're my sort of thing): Tales of Vesperia, Cry On, Last Remnant
And if I can stop being a wuss: Alone on the Dark, Condemned 2 and Left4Dead.

re. Whappers and Alone in the Dark - the PS3 version is officially delayed (by quite a bit if the rumours are true)

The PS3 games I'm interested in are White Knight Story and LA Noire (if it's still PS3 exclusive and this year). Not sure if it's enough yet. (Yes, MGS, LBP, Home don't interest me). If I did get one I would pick up Killzone 2 and Resistence 2 too though.

Either:

- Don't sit with your head on your Xbox
- Turn your sound up higher than 1
- Get your ears checked as they are clearly over sensitive

It really isn't that loud!

I'm sorry but I don't mean to be argumentative but the noise from the 360 is a touchy subject for me, how can you determine the noise level of other peoples consoles accurately ?, every single 360 I've owned so far has had a different noise level, no doubt due to the fact that there are so many different variants out there, my first 360 barely hummed on the dash but the last one I owned was honest to god the loudest electrical item I've ever owned, it's the main reason I traded it in for the PS3, tbh I miss the 360 but I just can't stand the noise they make, if it was being used in the living room maybe I could bare it but I mainly use consoles late at night in my room and the constant whirrrrrring it makes is SOOOOO distracting.

I have had 2 and seen 2 others running at friends houses and they have all been the same. I thought that as the only 4 I have ever seen were the same, that was enough to assume that the majority of the rest would be the same as well. I still find it hard to believe that if one is slightly louder, it actually makes that much difference when you have the sound at a decent level.

My 2008 lineup.

Condemned 2
GTAIV
Saints Row 2

That's it. I can't see Gears arriving in November, it'll slip I reckon.
